Kamala Harris wins democratic nomination for president

WORLD, Aug. 06 (YPA) – US Vice President Kamala Harris has won the Democratic nomination for president.

She has become the leading Democratic candidate after the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the governing body of the Democratic Party, announced the official results of the online delegate vote.

This development caps a tumultuous period for the Democratic Party, marked by President Joe Biden’s disastrous performance in the recent debate against Republican candidate Donald Trump and his subsequent withdrawal from the presidential race.

Last Friday, the Democratic National Committee announced that Kamala Harris had secured the required number of party delegate votes to officially be nominated for the presidential election.
