PARIS, July 26 (YPA) – A massive attack targeted the French railway company, which is witnessing “major confusion,” according to what the company announced on Friday morning.
This came hours before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris.
The French railway company “SNCF” said in a statement that the company was subjected, on the night of Thursday-Friday, to a massive and widespread attack aimed at paralyzing its network.
The state-owned railway operator said: “Saboteurs targeted high-speed trains along the lines linking Paris to cities such as Lille in the north, Bordeaux in the west, and Strasbourg in the east, and deliberately set fires to damage our facilities.”
The company also indicated that this situation may continue throughout the weekend at the very least until it can make repairs, calling on passengers to postpone their trips and stay away from train stations.
