Islah Party accuses UAE of planning to control Hadramout valley district

SANAA, July 11 (YPA) – Islah Party (Muslim Brotherhood) in Yemen accused the UAE on Thursday of moving towards overthrowing districts of Hadramout province, which are under the control of the “First Military Region” forces loyal to the party in eastern Yemen.

During the past two days, the UAE sent new factions from Dhalea and Lahj provinces to strengthen the “Southern Transitional Council’s” control over a number of eastern Shabwa districts adjacent to the Hadramout valley districts.

The former Minister of Transport in the pro-Saudi-led coalition government affiliated with the Islah Party, Saleh Al-Jabwani, reported that the UAE deployed four new brigades in Shabwa province, including a brigade in Azzan, of Mayfa’a district, east of the city of Ataq, the center of the province, in addition to a brigade in the Al-Saeed junction, south of Ataq.

Al-Jabwani added in a post on the “x” that “another brigade was deployed in Ayad area in Jardan District, in addition to a brigade in Sector 70 in Armaa District, northeast of Ataq, close to the Hadramout valley districts.

He pointed out that the expansion of the UAE-funded factions in Shabwa is not aimed at tightening military control over the province’s districts but rather expanding during a later stage towards Hadramout valley and Mahra province, eastern Yemen.
