Local currency hits new low against US dollar, Saudi riyal in southern Yemen

SANAA, May 08 (YPA) – Foreign exchange rates against the riyal have been fluctuating between rises and declines in Aden and the southern and eastern provinces under Saudi-led coalition control since the start of this week.

Banking sources confirmed on Wednesday that the price of the US dollar in Aden and the southern and eastern provinces recorded 1,692 riyals, while the price of the Saudi riyal reached 445.50 Yemeni riyals.

The sources reported that the dollar exchange rate in Sanaa and the provinces under the control of the Supreme Political Council remained stable at 533 riyals and 140.30 riyals to the Saudi riyal.
