Belgium warns Israel of serious repercussions of Rafah invasion

WORLD, May 07 (YPA) – Belgian Foreign Minister Hajja Lahbib, said that the imminent Israeli military operation in Rafah carries serious repercussions, calling on EU countries to take action regarding this matter.

The Belgian Foreign Minister clarified: “The military attack on Rafah could kill hundreds of thousands of women, children, and men who have no escape.”

She added: “This action would have a devastating impact on Palestinians in Gaza and serious ramifications on the occupied West Bank and the entire region. I cannot but reiterate the call of the 27 EU countries to Israel not to launch a military attack in Rafah.”

The Belgian Foreign Minister expressed deep concern about the escalation of violence, demanding respect for human rights and international law.

She emphasized the need for joint international action to find a permanent political solution to the Palestinian issue, based on the two-state solution in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
