MAHRA, May 06 (YPA) – The rains and floods resulting from the depression that struck Mahra province, eastern Yemen, have caused significant damage to lives and infrastructure in the center of the province.
The initial report on the extent of the damage resulting from the depression, which was discussed today, Monday, at the province’s emergency committee meeting, stated that the heavy rains amounting to 108 mm in Al-Ghaydah District, and the resulting torrential rains caused the death of four people and the injury of 36 others.
The report added that these rains and torrents also caused the displacement of hundreds of families from their homes and caused major damage to main and secondary roads and the collapse of many bridges, ferries, electricity poles, the communications network, and other infrastructure in the province.
