BERLIN, April 10 (YPA) – The Broadcasting Authority in southwestern Germany announced that female broadcaster Helen Fares got fired from her job after she called for a boycott of Israeli products.
The authority explained in a statement that Fares was fired because she shared an application on her post on social media calling to boycott Israeli products.
The statement claimed that Fares “violated the principle of neutrality” by sharing that the application.
“Journalists may of course have a political point of view, but the independence of the Broadcasting Authority in southwest Germany should not be compromised or questioned through their activities on social media,” it added.
“The German media outlets are trying to make all voices that speak on behalf of Palestine be silence, and for this reason we need to speak more and louder,” she said in a statement on her Instagram account.
Germany is the second country that absolutely supports Israeli entity after the United States, despite Tel Aviv appearing before the International Court of Justice in The Hague on charges of committing “genocide” against the Palestinians.
