Trump calls for deal on Gaza war

WORLD, June 29 (YPA) – President Donald Trump has urged both “Israel” and Hamas to reach a ceasefire agreement and ensure the release of the remaining hostages in Gaza.

”MAKE THE DEAL IN GAZA. GET THE HOSTAGES BACK!!!” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday.

Previously, Trump had spoken of a potential ceasefire agreement in Gaza that could be reached as early as next week.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Israeli assessments indicate that Trump is seeking to end the war in Gaza quickly.

Hebrew Channel 12 quoted a US official as saying, “We are working with our partners to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, coinciding with the arrival of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in Washington.”

The report noted that Netanyahu is expected to hold a closed security meeting later on Sunday, followed by a meeting of the security cabinet.

This comes amid renewed Israeli demonstrations taking place in both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

Protesters carried banners rejecting a partial prisoner exchange deal, calling instead for the return of all hostages at once and an end to the war in Gaza.
