Borrell: Building new Israeli settlements constitutes a grave breach and obstructs peace

WORLD, Feb. 25 (YPA) – Josep Borrell, the EU’s Foreign Policy Chief, has labeled the announcement by Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to build 3,300 new housing units in Israeli colonies in the occupied West Bank as inflammatory and dangerous.

“The announcement by Israeli Minister Smotrich to build 3,300 new units in illegal West Bank settlements is inflammatory and dangerous,” Borrel said in a tweet on his X account.

“Settlements make Israelis and Palestinians less safe, fuel tensions, obstruct peace efforts, and constitute a grave breach of international law.”
