SANAA, Feb. (YPA) – The National Meteorology Center expected on Friday that rains of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms in a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.
In its weather forecast, the center predicted rains of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, in parts of the provinces of Ibb, Raymah, Sanaa, Dhamar, Mahweet, Amran, Hajjah, and Saada.
It is also expected that rains of varying intensity to hit the areas adjacent to the Tihama plain in the afternoon period.

Winds will be moderate to strong, ranging between (12 – 30) knots, especially on the southern coast, the entrance of the Bab al-Mandab strait, and the Socotra archipelago, the center said.
“In mountainous areas, the weather will be relatively cold to cold during the night and early morning in Saada, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, and Bayda, turning partly cloudy during the day.”
The center added that desert regions will experience clear weather with relatively cool temperatures during the night and early morning, becoming partly cloudy to relatively hot during the day. Winds will be moderate, occasionally picking up speed, causing dust and sandstorms.
The center called on citizens not to be in valleys and torrent passages in areas where rain is expected, to take shelter from thunderstorms, and not to use mobile phones.
It also warned seagoers and fishermen in the Socotra Archipelago, the south of the western coast, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab of the turbulent sea and high waves.
