Venezuela condemns Zionist measures to expand military attack in Rafah

CARACAS, Feb. 13 (YPA) – Venezuela condemned on Tuesday the measures taken by the government of the Zionist entity within the framework of “expanding the military attack in the Gaza Strip towards Rafah city.

Venezuela’s Presidency affirmed in a statement that the attack aims at continuing to implement its criminal and expansionist policies in this city, which houses 1.4 million displaced Palestinians.

“These cruel and inhumane acts contribute to exacerbating the consequences and conditions of deterioration experienced by the population in the Gaza Strip, and prevent the access of basic humanitarian aid to survive,” the statement warned.

It expressed its rejection of the policy of displacement, genocide, and apartheid against the Palestinian people, demanding respect for international law as a guarantee of world peace.

The statement affirmed that Venezuela reiterated its call to the United Nations and the international community to take urgent and decisive decisions to prevent the Zionist entity from creating another catastrophe and continuing its disastrous policy of annihilating the Palestinian people.

It stressed its readiness to continue supporting initiatives aimed at achieving a final ceasefire and international recognition of Palestine as a free sovereign state, in addition to an urgent trial for crimes committed by the Zionist entity.

Previously, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister had announced his country’s support for imposing an oil embargo on the Zionist entity to stop its crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza.
