Syria’s President confirms Washington expands conflict by backing aggression on Gaza

DAMASCUS, Feb. 12 (YPA) – Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad confirmed on Sunday that Washington is expanding the conflict with its behavior regarding the Zionist aggression against Gaza.

This came during his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in the Syrian capital Damascus.

“Supplying the Zionist entity with lethal weapons, and Washington carrying out aggressions and attacks in various regions, is what will expand the conflict,” he said.

“The Zionist escalation in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon is an attempt to get the Zionist entity out of the impasse,” Al-Assad added. “It is our duty to stand to the best of our ability alongside the Palestinian people.”

He added: The Zionist escalation in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon “is an attempt to get the Zionist entity out of the impasse.”

The Syrian President pointed out that what the Palestinian people achieved during the recent Zionist aggression on Gaza “has not been made since the Palestinian issue arose.”

In turn, Abdollahian said that the Gaza issue is now considered the main issue, not only at the regional level but also at the international level.

The Iranian minister stressed that “Syria is on the front lines in supporting the Palestinian people and its cause.”

He stressed the importance of the necessity of stopping the war in Gaza, noting that “the key to returning sustainable security in the region is to stop crimes against the Palestinian people.”
