Leader in STC factions assassinated in Shabwa

SHABWA, Jan. 30 (YPA) – Unidentified gunmen assassinated on Tuesday a prominent leader in the UAE-backed “Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions near the Balhaf gas facility in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

Informed sources reported that the unknown gunmen opened fire on the commander of “Arqa’ coastal point of the so-called “Second Marine Infantry Brigade” in the coastal Radhom District, Majid Salem al-Karbi Bakharkhor, killing him on the spot, then taking refuge in an unknown destination.

The sources explained that citizens found Al-Karbi covered in blood, suggesting that the assassination occurred due to differences between the leaders of the factions.

The Shabwa districts are witnessing security chaos amid the armed deployment of the UAE-funded factions “Shabwa Defense, Al-Amaliqa,” and others in the province.
