HADRAMOUT, Jan. 15 (YPA) – The Islah Party carried out a military parade during which it highlighted its military capabilities in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, which observers considered a clear challenge to the Emirati factions.
The command of the “First Military Region” affiliated with the Islah Party, which took the city of Seiyun, the center of the districts of Wadi Hadramout, as the headquarters of the command of its armed factions, showcased on Sunday its capabilities and technical skills and tactical training under the name of “Inauguration of the new combat year 2024 AD.”
The head of operations of the Islah factions, Mohammed Mahshemi, urged the militants to carry out tasks in combating terrorism, smuggling and confronting threats in a way that preserves the so-called state institutions and public and private property, referring to the threats of the Emirati factions.
Activists loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) considered that the military parade and the threats it contained represent a clear message of defiance to the UAE-backed factions that stand close to Seiyun, accusing Saudi Arabia of supporting the Islah forces and preventing the UAE-backed factions from taking control over the districts of Wadi Hadramout.
The Emirati factions had announced the operation of the so-called “arrows of the East” at the end of August 2022 to control the districts of Wadi Hadramout and Mahra province.
