Lieberman threatens South Africa for supporting Palestine

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Jan. 14 (YPA) – Israeli Knesset member Avigdor Lieberman, former Minister of Defense called for South Africa to pay the price of filing a lawsuit against his country before the International Court of Justice, on charges of genocide in Gaza, which indicates the extent of Israeli concern about the consequences of the lawsuit.

“A price must be paid. The anti-Semitic farce currently taking place in The Hague, initiated by South Africa, must exact a price, first and foremost severing diplomatic relations with a country that supports terrorist organizations around the world, particularly Hamas and Hezbollah,” Lieberman, the head of the Yisrael Beitenu party, said in a post on his X account.

“At the same time, the State of Israel must call on Jews in South Africa to immigrate to Israel and not wait for an outbreak of anti-Semitism that will include persecution and harm to Jews, as history has taught us,” he added.

The Jewish community in South Africa is about 77,500 people, the largest Jewish community on the African continent, and most of them are concentrated in the cities of Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, according to Hebrew media.
