Meteorology warns of cold wave across of Yemen

SANAA, Jan. 13 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology expected cold to very cold weather in several provinces during the next 24 hours.

The center indicated in its weather bulletin on Saturday that a cold wave may target Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Bayda Dhalea, in addition to the highlands of Hajjah, Mahweet, Rayma, Ibb, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Jawf, Marib, Shabwa, Hadramout and Mahra province.

According to the Meteorological Center, active to strong winds are likely to blow on the western coasts, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and around the Socotra Archipelago, with speeds ranging between 15 and 28 knots.

It warned citizens, especially the elderly, children, the sick people, and workers in mountainous areas and interior plateaus, of the cold weather.
