UNRWA: “2023 is the bloodiest year for Palestinians in West Bank”

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Dec. 30 (YPA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said, “2023 is the bloodiest year ever for Palestinians in the West Bank, with 504 Palestinians martyred” as of Friday, December 29.

This came in an interview conducted by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) with the Director of Media and Communications at the UN agency, Juliette Touma, and the latter published its content on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter).

Touma added, “The West Bank has been boiling for 18 months,” noting that the year 2023 is the bloodiest year ever for Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank.

The UN official continued, saying, “504″ Palestinians have been martyred so far this year in the West Bank, while at least 70 children have been killed since the start of the war” in the Gaza Strip.

This comes at a time when UNRWA pointed out that the Israeli occupation army caused the death of 308 Palestinians, in addition to the injury of 1,095 others who were taking shelter in its facilities in the Gaza Strip, since October 7.
