WASHINGTON, Dec. 19 (YPA) – An American official has exposed a measure taken by Saudi Arabia and the UAE to cover up their participation in the alliance to protect Israeli ships in the Red Sea.
The American newspaper “Politico” quoted an American military official as saying, “Several countries agreed to participate in the new force in the Red Sea, but they preferred not to name it publicly.”
Through their undeclared participation in the alliance to protect Israeli ships, Saudi Arabia and the UAE seek to ensure that they are not subjected to any targeting operations from the Sanaa government, especially since the latter had previously warned Riyadh and Abu Dhabi that any involvement in an alliance to attack Yemen would end the calm and make them a target for Sanaa.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin had announced from Israel the formation of an alliance to protect its ships in the Red Sea from Yemeni forces attacks, which includes Britain, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles, and Spain.
