WORLD, Dec. 19 (YPA) – Chinese state media reported that at least 95 people have been killed in a magnitude 6.2 earthquake in the country’s northwest.
A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck China on Monday evening, specifically Gansu province in the north of the country, according to the American Geological Institute.
The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers at a distance of about 100 km from the provincial capital Langshu at 23.59 local time (15.59 GMT), according to the same source.
Many areas in Gansu and Qinghai experienced strong tremors.
According to Xinhua, some houses have collapsed after the earthquake hit Jishishan County.
In Jishishan and Yongjing counties, many people were seen on the street after the earthquake.
