HR Minister discusses displaced situation with UN official
SANAA, July 9 (YPA) – Human Rights Minister, Alia Faisal Abdullatif, on Monday met with Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs OCHA George Khoury.
In the meeting, the officials discussed the situation of the displaced people, especially the displaced people of Hodeidah, the suffering of the people of the province, and the prevention of the displaced persons to enter into Aden province, which is controlled by the coalition.
The meeting touched to the exposure of a number of passengers stranded in various airports in the world and who could not return to Yemen.
Alia reviewed the humanitarian situation and the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result of the continued aggression and siege and the severe violations of human rights committed against a number of citizens in the secret prisons of the Coalition.
The Human Rights Minister handed over to the Director of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) a file on the monitoring of violations and the humanitarian situation of Hodeidah and the suffering exacerbated by the continuation of military operations in Hodeidah.
For his part, UN official expressed regret for the continuation of displacement and its consequences, saying that the UN continues its calls to open airports and end the suffering of the Yemeni people and will follow up the aspects related to the humanitarian affairs of the United Nations.
