Expert reveals why US supports “Israel”

WORLD, Nov. 11 (YPA) – Political scientist John Mearsheimer said that the United States supports the Israeli occupation due to domestic political considerations and fear of the Israeli lobby in Washington.

He said via YouTube: “The current US President Joe Biden is not much different from his predecessor from the presidents of the United States such as Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush, he is well aware that if he crosses the path of the Israeli lobby, he will pay a heavy political price.”

“There was a time when Israel was an important strategic ally of the United States, but today Washington’s comprehensive and unprecedented support for Israel cannot be explained as strategic or even moral considerations, specifically in light of the treatment Palestinians receive from Israel,” he said.

Mearsheimer noted the readiness of the United States to support all Israeli actions for domestic political purposes, stressing that from the point of view of American law, pressuring interests even if it is for a foreign country is not a crime.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the number of victims of the Zionist bombardment, which has been ongoing since October 7, has risen to 11,078 Palestinians, including 4,506 children.
