Deputy PM, UN official discuss Hodeidah IDP’s humanitarian situation

SANAA, July 8 (YPA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Hussein Maqboli discussed on Sunday the internally displaced people (IDP’s) humanitarian situation with the UN humanitarian affairs coordinator for Yemen, Lise Grande.

At the meeting, the officials discussed ways to provide shelters and humanitarian aid for the IDPs and the residents of Hodeidah province.

The meeting touched upon the importance to secure the residential areas and water wells, hospitals and power stations in the province, which is under direct attack from the Saudi-UAE-led coalition.

Maqboli conveyed the political leadership’s interests to facilitate works of the international humanitarian agencies to help the IDPs.

Maqboli affirmed the coalition states have been preventing, obstructing entry of ships loaded with foodstuffs to Hodeidah port.

Meanwhile, the UN official said that there are international movements to criminalize targeting civilians, water wells and infrastructure.

Grande stressed thanked the national salvation government for facilitating the distribution of food assistance to alleviate IDPs suffering.
