Former US diplomat: Arab leaders pretend to defend Palestinians

WORLD, Oct. 30 (YPA) – Former US diplomat Dennis Ross said that the Israeli occupation entity and America are not the only countries that want to destroy the Palestinian resistance movement “Hamas”.

He stressed the presence of Arab leaders who also wanted to eliminate the movement that launched the “Al-Aqsa Flood” Operation against the Israeli enemy on October 7.

Ross wrote in the New York Times, stating that over the past two weeks, “when they spoke with Arab officials in different parts of the country, each of them told me that Hamas in Gaza must be destroyed.”

He explained that those Arab leaders who spoke to him had stated their position to him “in private” while “their public positions were otherwise; because they know that as Israel’s retaliation continues and Palestinian casualties and suffering increase, their citizens will be angry.”

Ross affirmed that Arab leaders pretend to be defending the Palestinians.

“So those leaders need to be seen as defending the Palestinians, at least rhetorically,” he said.
