UAE expands military barracks at Socotra airport

SOCOTRA, Oct. 17 (YPA) -The UAE continues military developments in the vicinity of Socotra International Airport in the city of Hadibu, local sources on the Yemeni island of Socotra revealed on Tuesday.

According to the sources, units of the UAE forces have established new military sites near their military base at Socotra airport.

In turn, residents of Hadibu city confirmed that the Emirati forces seized large areas of citizens’ land near the airport, at gunpoint, before turning them into military barracks.

It is worth noting that the UAE occupation forces turned one of the extensions of Socotra International Airport into a military barracks in early September.

Since the beginning of the coalition war on Yemen, Socotra has been subjected to a process of exploitation and attrition by Emirati forces, which are deployed alongside Saudi and foreign forces in a number of areas on the strategic island.
