SANAA, Sept. 14 (YPA) – A political activist from South Yemen revealed on Wednesday that 600 Yemeni fighters are being trained by Emirati forces in the Balhaf gas facility in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen, to go fight in Sudan.
“There is a force of 600 fighters being trained by Emirati forces in Balhaf to go fight in Sudan with the Hemedti militias,” the political activist, Adel Al-Hassani, said in a post on his account on the “X” platform.
Al-Hassani called on France, a partner of Yemen in the liquefied gas company “Total”, to evacuate the Balhaf facility from UAE agents and their tools and to remove its military appearance.
This comes after statements made by Sudanese Army Commander Abdel Fattah Burhan last Monday about the presence of Yemeni mercenaries fighting alongside the UAE-backed “Rapid Support Forces” in Sudan.
