2 killed, 7 injured in Zinjibar clashes

ABYAN, Sept. 05 (YPA) – At least two citizens were killed and 7 others wounded in armed clashes on Tuesday erupted in the center of the city of Zinjibar, the center of Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources reported.

According to local sources in the city, the clashes broke out between gunmen from the Al-Rawei family and Al-Jabbour near Al-Jahal roundabout in the central of Zinjibar city, following old disputes between them.

The sources pointed out that the previous differences renewed between the two families, which led to an exchange of fire between them after they left the Al-Tawheed Mosque in the area.

The sources identified the victims as Majid Saleh al-Houtari and Mohsen Ali Talib.

The gunmen from the Al-Rawei and Al-Jabbour families managed to escape after the deaths and injuries of passers-by in the street, according to the sources.
