Iranian forces seize ship smuggling fuel in Gulf

WORLD, Sept. 02 (YPA) – Naval forces of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards seized  a tanker ship carrying thousands of liters of smuggled fuel in the Gulf waters, and arrested the entire crew members, the chief justice of the coastal Hormozgan province, Mojtaba Ghahramani said on Saturday.

He added, “the naval forces  had confiscated the ship and arrested four people during the operation.”

The official explained that more than 50,000 litres (13,000 gallons) of smuggled fuel were discovered” on board on the ship.

He said all those involved in the crime would be prosecuted, emphasizing that the cargo on board the ship was seized upon court order and handed over to the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company to be processed.
