Lightning strikes kill five Yemeni people during past hours in several provinces

PROVINCES, Aug 30 (YPA) – Lightning Strikes continued to claim more Yemeni lives, as five people died by lightning strikes  in several Yemeni governorates during the past hours, bringing the number of victims to 160 people.

Local residents said two people died from sporadic lighting strikes in Mahweet province, which has the highest number of casualties.

In Amran governorate, a girl died by a lighting strike in Al-Asha district, while another citizen was injured in Dhamar governorate.

In Hajjah governorate, a young man died as a result of a lightning strikes in the ” Qufl Shammar” district, and another citizen was injured by a lightning strike that hit a house, sparking fire in the house. The fired caused material damage, while Al-Nour School in the Hajour area of Kuaidina district in the same governorate, was damaged by lightning strikes.

In Hodeida, a citizen died as a result of a lighting strike, which hit the village of Muftah in the area of Al-Atawiya in Al- Zaydiyah district, while three people were injured by sporadic lighting strikes in the same district, in addition to the death of dozens of livestock by a third lightning strike that hit a house in the area of Al-Hashabra in the same district.
