Yemeni doctors remove large brain tumor from woman’s head in Hajjah

HAJJAH, Aug 29 (YPA) – A medical team at the Republican Hospital Authority in Hajjah Governorate, headed by consultant neurosurgeon and spine surgeon, Dr. Ali Jaafar, succeeded in removing a large brain tumor from a woman’s head on Monday.

The head of the Republican Hospital Authority, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ashwal, explained that the operation performed on a woman, at the age of 24, was successful.

He pointed out that conducting such operations in the province constitutes a qualitative leap in medical services. He praised the great efforts made by consultants, working specialists and technicians.

For his part, Dr. Ali Jaafar confirmed that the patient arrived at the hospital, and she was suffering from severe pain in the left eye. After performing a CT scan of the patient, it was found that she suffers from a large brain tumor. Doctors decided to perform surgery to remove the tumor completely.

Women’s health status was good and stable, he added.
