Parliament condemns crime of coalition, its mercenaries in Maqbana, Taiz
SANAA, Aug. 27 (YPA) – The Parliament condemned on Sunday the Saudi-led coalition’s crimes against Yemeni people, including the recent attack in Al-Akhdua village of Maqbana district in Taiz province, which resulted in the death and injury of 17 citizens, most of them women and children.
In a statement issued today, the Parliament considered that this crime reflected the brutality of the coalition and its mercenaries and their disregard for norms, humanitarian laws, international treaties, and covenants, and at the same time constituted a flagrant violation of humanitarian and international laws.
The statement strongly condemned the coalition forces’ and mercenaries’ targeting of residential areas with artillery and heavy shells on a daily basis, causing more casualties among civilians.
The Parliament held the US-backed coalition and its tools fully responsible for the targeting of civilians by killing, displacing, and looting their property, the latest of which is the Maqbana crime in Taiz.
In its statement, the Parliament expressed its condemnation of the continued international silence towards these crimes and their perpetrators, calling for a transparent, impartial investigation of these crimes, ensuring criminal accountability, and prosecuting perpetrators.
