Russian air defenses shot down Ukrainian drone over Istra region

WORLD,  Aug 26 (YPA) – Russian air defenses shot down one Ukrainian drone that tried to target sites in Moscow last night, the country’s defense ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, “On August 26, at about 03:00 at night, an attempt by the Kiev regime to launch a terrorist attack with a drone on targets in Moscow was thwarted.”

The statement explained that the air defense forces destroyed the hostile drone over the Istra region, west the Russian capital.

Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said in the early hours of Saturday that an enemy drone has been destroyed as it was flying towards Moscow.

He added that there was no damage on the ground and that no one was hurt.

Last Wednesday, Russian air defenses destroyed three Ukrainian drones that tried to target Moscow.
