Protesters block main roads in Lahj

LAHJ, Aug 24 (YPA) -Angry protesters in Lahj province, southern Yemen, closed main roads in protest against the deterioration of services and the power outage, local sources reported on late Wednesday.

According to local residents in Lahj,  the Rabat Street, one of the main streets in the Tuban district, was blocked by protesters.

The protesters set fire to tires and chanted slogans against the Saudi-led coalition and the pro-coalition government.

Activists on social media platforms posted a video footage showing the closure of Rabat Street.

Several cities , which are  under the control of the coalition forces, including  Aden, have been witnessing a popular outburst that reached the vicinity of al-Ma’ashiq Palace and closed main streets, including Al-Mualla Street leading to the main port in Aden.

Activists also  revealed directives issued by the pro- coalition defense minister, Mohsen al-Daari, to military units to raise maximum readiness in order to strike demonstrators in Aden with an iron fist.
