LAHJ, Aug 19 (YPA) – Salafist extremists loyal to the UAE destroyed an ancient shrine belonging to one of the symbols of Sufism in Lahj province in southern Yemen, Southern media outlets reported.
According to the media outlets, Salafist gunmen loyal to the UAE destroyed the tomb of Sheikh Ali Ibn Ibrahim Al-Seruri, who died in 678 AH in the Turbat Bani Al-Asrar area in ‘Al-Madaribah Wa Al Arah’ district in Lahj.
The attack is an extension of the systematic destruction of the shrines and domes of Sufi sheikhs from the UAE-backed Salafist factions, where many of these monuments have already been blown up by the joint forces in Mocha, Hodeida and Lahj.
