French soldier killed in road accident in Iraq

WORLD, Aug 19 (YPA) – President Emmanuel Macron has announced that a French soldier has been killed in a road accident in Iraq while taking part in a training mission for the Iraqi armed forces

The French president expressed deep sorrow over the death of Sergeant Baptiste Gauchot in Iraq who belonged to the 19th Engineer Regiment, according to French presidency’s statement.

In the statement, Macron reaffirmed his support for the people and the government of Iraq and France’s determination to continue working alongside them to train their security forces in the fight against terrorism.
