WORLD, Aug 18 (YPA) – Russia has banned entry to several Moldovan officials following Moldova’s “unfriendly” decision to expel 22 Russian diplomats, the Russian foreign ministry said on Friday.
“Moldovan Ambassador to Moscow Lilian Darii was informed that entry into the Russian Federation was closed to a number of officials of the Republic of Moldova,” said a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The statement added that the ambassador was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry in protest against Moldova’s decision, which it considered to be “unjustified.”
“It is emphasized that this unfriendly step leads to further destruction of Russian-Moldovan relations, which are already in a deep crisis due to the actions of the Moldovan side,” the statement said.
