SANAA, Aug 13 (YPA) – The moderate to heavy rain will be expected to prevail over the various areas of Yemeni provinces during the next 24 hours, according to the National Center of Meteorology.
In its weather forecast on Sunday, the rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, expected on parts of the provinces of Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Rayma, Ibb, Taiz, Dhalea, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, Mahra, Marib, Byada and Lahj.
It said the maximum temperatures ranging between 36-41 degrees Celsius will hit the desert areas, as well as hot and humid weather over the coastal plains and the Socotra archipelago, with maximum temperatures ranging between 32-37 degrees Celsius.
The winds will be very strong around the Socotra archipelago and the eastern coasts, with speeds ranging between 25-40 knots, and active to strong winds on parts of the southern and eastern coasts and the south of the western coast and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, ranging its speed between 10 – 25 knots.
The center warned citizens against being in valleys and crossing torrential passages, calling on motorists to drive carefully due to a decrease in horizontal visibility during rain or fog.
