Ukrainian attack by 25 drones in Crimea thwarted

WORLD, July 30 (YPA) – Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Sunday it had thwarted a Ukrainian drone attack in Crimea region overnight.

The Russian defense said in a statement: “Last night, the Kiev regime’s attempt to carry out a terrorist attack with 25 drones on targets in the territory of Crimea, but it was thwarted.”

“16 Ukrainian drones were destroyed by air defense, the statement said, while 9 other Ukrainian drones were disabled by electronic warfare means, without reaching the targets.

The unmanned vehicles crashed in the Black Sea near Ras Tarkhankot in the west of the peninsula.

“The failed terrorist attack caused no casualties or damage,” the statement said.

On Monday, Russian defense said it had foiled a Ukrainian attempt to carry out a 17-drone attack on targets in Crimea.
