Yemenis commemorate Day of Ashura with mass rallies

SANAA, July 28 (YPA) – Millions of Yemenis in the capital Sanaa and a number of provinces have on Friday staged mass rallies commemorating the Day of Ashura and the anniversary of Imam Hussain’s martyrdom.

At the rallies, the participants raised banners and slogans denouncing the US policy in the region, and calling for the boycott of American and Israeli goods.

The protesters confirmed their adherence to Imam Hussain’s approach, his teachings and the examples set during his life.

The rallies’ statements confirmed Yemen’s firm position in confronting the brutal US-Saudi-Emirati-Zionist alliance.

The statements also confirmed Yemen’s principled stand with the axis of resistance and jihad in the face of the Jews and Zionists until they are defeated, and the holy sites in Palestine are liberated.

They also condemned the burning of copies of Quran in Sweden and Denmark by the Zionist lobby, calling on the nation to take firm positions through severing ties and boycotting those countries products.
