North Korean leader unveils distinctive weapon for first time
WORLD, July 27 (YPA) -North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited a defense exhibition in Pyongyang on Wednesday evening, North Korean media reported.
The defense exhibition was organized under the auspices of the North Korean Ministry of Defense, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the “Great National Liberation War”, as Pyongyang calls the Korean War (1950-1953).
As shown in images published by North Korean media, Kim showed Shoigu during a visit to the Arms Show 2023 the latest drones and intercontinental ballistic missiles manufactured by Pyongyang.
The images showed at least two drones have not been publicly disclosed , which looked similar to the US MQ-9 Reaper and Global Hawks.
Images of the Hwasong-17 intercontinental ballistic missile and another Hwasong-18 solid-fuel engine intercontinental ballistic missile were also displayed in the exhibition, which North Korea said it tested in April and July this year.
Before visiting the exhibition, Kim and Shoigu held a meeting during which Shoigu handed the North Korean leader a personal message from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
