SANAA, July 26 (YPA) – At least nine people have been killed on Wednesday and seven others injured due to floods hit Parwan province in eastern Afghanistan .
Afghan media quoted the spokesman of the provincial government, Syed Hakimullah Shamim, as saying: “floods swept through several villages in Siagard and Shimurti districts yesterday Tuesday afternoon after heavy rains, resulting in the destruction of 200 residential buildings, a thousand acres of agricultural lands, the destruction of a 36 km road, some water canals and the death of dozens of animals”.
