Danish extremists burn copies of Quran in front of Egyptian embassy

WORLD, July 25 (YPA) – Extremists on Tuesday burned a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Egyptian embassy in the Danish capital Copenhagen, days after committing a similar crime in front of the Iraqi embassy.

It is the third crime in Denmark in less than a week, after similar crimes in neighboring Sweden angered Muslims around the world and caused angry Iraqi protesters to set fire to the Swedish embassy in Baghdad last week.

Denmark and Sweden said they condemn the burning of the Quran but cannot prevent the act under rules protecting “freedom of expression”.

An extremist group calling itself “National Danes” in Copenhagen today carried out the crime of burning the Quran, after burning copies of the Quran on Monday and last week in front of the Iraqi embassy.  The group burned the Quran twice in Sweden last month.
