Russia’s President condemns burning of holy Quran at Stockholm

MOSCO, July. 02 (YPA) – Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin, renewed his condemnation of the burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden.

Putin criticized Sweden after the crime committed to burn the Holy Quran, at the hands of an extremist, during his visit to Derbent city, Dagestan.

During his recent tour in Dagestan, Putin visited the Friday Mosque in Derbent, where he received a Quran as a gift from the Assistant Mufti of the Dagestan Republic Zabir Salimov.

Last week, an Swedish extremist had declared he would desecrate the Holy Quran, under the protection of the Swedish authorities, after he tore up and burned the Holy Quran outside the main mosque in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
