Sanaa condemns continued burning of copies of Holy Quran in Sweden
SANAA, June 29 (YPA) – Minister of Information in Sanaa, Daif Allah Al-Shami, strongly condemned on Thursday the continuation of burning copies of the Holy Quran by the Swedish government deliberately in a step to provoke one and a half billion Muslims.
In a statement, Al-Shami described the continued burning of copies of the Holy Quran as a disgraceful act, provocative to the feelings of Muslims around the world, in conjunction with the Muslims’ performance of the Hajj.
The minister called on the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nation and religious scholars to take angry stances towards those who insult the Holy Book of Allah and to burn copies of it, considering that a crime affecting the Islamic religion.
Al-Shami stressed that this crime has nothing to do with freedom of opinion, expression and belief, which the western countries, including the Zionist lobby, deliberately repeat on a daily basis.
He again called on governments to sever diplomatic relations with Sweden and to continue boycotting its goods and the products of countries that support such trends aimed at insulting Islam and Muslims.
