SANAA, June 29 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology has expected hot weather in the desert and coastal areas within the coming 24 hours.
The center said in its weather bulletin on Thursday that the warm weather would be accompanied with maximum temperatures ranging between 40-45 degrees Celsius in the deserts and internal plateaus, and 34-41 degrees in coastal areas and the Socotra archipelago.
Heavy rains of varying intensity may be likely, accompanied by thunderstorms, in the provinces of Mahra and Hadramout, and sporadic rains in parts of Shabwa, Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Sanaa, Amran, Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Rayma and the Socotra archipelago.
It pointed to the possibility of active winds blowing around the Socotra archipelago and the southern and eastern coasts, with speeds ranging between 20-40 knots.
The center called on motorists to drive carefully on mountainous roads as a result low horizontal visibility and rainfall.
