Sanaa closes squid fishing season in Red Sea

SANAA, June 19 (YPA) – The Ministry of Fisheries in the Sanaa government on Sunday announced the closure of the squid fishing season in the Red Sea region from the marine waters of the Republic of Yemen, starting June 17, 2023 AD until further notice.

According to a decision issued by the ministry, it directed to prevent the fishing of squid in the Red Sea region from the marine waters of the Republic of Yemen during the period of closing the fishing season.

The Ministry called on the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea to count the quantities of squid stored in refrigerators with exporters and to raise the results of the inventory within a maximum period of ten days.

It stressed that anyone who violates the provisions of this decision will be punished.
