Meteorology Center warns of turbulence in Socotra Sea, dangers of sailing east of Gulf of Aden
SOCOTRA, June 06 (YPA) – Yemen’s weather is witnessing new disturbances and changes in the sea off the Socotra archipelago and the eastern Gulf of Aden, as well as high temperatures in the desert areas and the internal and coastal plateaus.
In its weather bulletin issued on Tuesday, the National Center of Meteorology expected dry and hot to very hot weather during the day in the desert areas, and active winds that reach a maximum speed of 21 knots, stirring dust and sand, especially in the deserts of Hadramout, Shabwa, Jawf, and Marib.
The center indicated that the weather in the coastal areas is cloudy, with rain of varying intensity, some of which is heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, on the Socotra archipelago.
The sea is turbulent around the archipelago, and the wave height may reach more than 4 meters. The center also expected rains of varying intensity, some of which are heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, on the Socotra archipelago and parts of the provinces of Dhalea, north of Lahj, Taiz, and Ibb.
The Meteorology Center advised against sailing in the high marine territorial waters east of the Gulf of Aden, warning of the dangers of high waves and sea turbulence around the Socotra archipelago.
The center also warned citizens against being in the torrents passages and valleys during and after rains, as well as rockslides and the noticeable decrease in horizontal visibility on mountain roads.
