Sanaa accuses coalition factions of foiling visits to prisoner prisons
SANAA, May 19 (YPA) – Head of the Prisoners’ Committee in Sanaa, Abdulqadir Al-Mortada, said on Friday that the Saudi-led coalition factions in Marib province foiled the agreed-upon prison visits, which were scheduled to start Saturday, May 20.
In a posting on his Twitter account, Al-Mortada stated that Sanaa was ready to carry out the jails visits tomorrow, Saturday, as planned, but was startled by the preconditions placed by pro-coalition factions in Marib, which forced the visits to be postponed indefinitely.
He saw these actions as a blatant attempt to derail the visit agreement and consequently the next round of negotiations.
Al-Mortada called on the United Nations to put an end to this obstruction and oblige all parties to execute and sign the agreement.
