WORLD, May 11 (YPA) -The German Foreign Ministry confirmed that there is no legal ground to list the Russian private military company “Wagner” on the European Union’s list of terrorist organizations.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper quoted excerpts from the German Foreign Ministry’s response to an inquiry from the CDU-CSU coalition bloc in this regard, stating that “the legal criteria for the EU’s list of terrorist organizations are very strict.”
According to the ministry, the German government is not aware of any national decisions in EU member states or other countries that comply with European sanctions standards for combating terrorism.
The Foreign Ministry added, “The German government, together with partners in the European Union and abroad, continues to monitor the situation and evaluate various scenarios, so the issue to list “Wagner” on the terrorist organizations’ list remains only hypothetical.
