KIRKUK, April 22 (YPA) – Iraqi authorities announced on Saturday that security forces have foiled a terrorist plot by ISIS targeting Kirkuk province.
The intelligence service said in a statement that during a qualitative operation, field and intelligence effort, detachments of the National Security Service in Kirkuk were able to arrest two members of the terrorist organization ISIS, after thwarting a terrorist plot targeting the province’s markets.
The statement added that the arrest came less than hours after they targeted a local police station in Kirkuk province.
On Friday, the terrorist organization ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack on a military vehicle of the Iraqi army in central Anbar, which resulted in damage to the vehicle and the injury of those inside.
