Parliament condemns Zionist attacks on Palestinians, Al-Aqsa Mosque
SANAA, March 31 (YPA) – Speaker of the Parliament, Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, condemned on Thursday the Zionist occupation and settlers’ attacks on Palestinians and Islamic sanctities during Ramadan.
In a statement issued by the Parliament, Al-Ra’i indicated that the Parliament strongly condemns the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Zionist settlers under the protection of the Zionist enemy’s police, considering these attacks an escalating step to raise the pace of violence within the occupied Palestinian Arab territories.
The Parliament also considered the call of the so-called “Jewish temple organizations” for bringing their animal sacrifices and gather at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque a new aggressive step and a dangerous escalation against Islamic sanctities.
The statement stressed that “Al-Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards are a red line,” calling on Arabs and Muslims to protect the holy sites and put an end to the continuous Zionist attacks and violations.
The Parliament’s statement warned against the continued attempts of the Zionist enemy to change the identity of the Islamic holy sites in Al-Quds, confirming the firmness of the official and popular position of the Republic of Yemen in support of the Palestinian cause by all possible means.
The statement called on the Security Council, the United Nations, human rights organizations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to take responsibility for putting an end to these repeated Zionist abuses and provocations.
The Parliament expressed regret for the Arab and Islamic silence towards these attacks and violations, and called on the parliaments of Islamic countries to take a unified stance to stop the violation of Islamic sanctities. It also called on the international community to take a moral and humanitarian role in protecting the Palestinian people and stopping Zionist violations.
Concluding its statement, the Parliament emphasized the right of the Palestinian people to defend their land and sanctities and their right to a free and dignified life until the restoration of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
